All successful scientists record their work. My students are no exception. Throughout the course students will be creating something called an Interactive Science Notebook (ISN), a learning tool that combines important class information (notes, tables and charts, handouts, etc.) with the student's interpretations of the material. These ISNs will be colorful and unique to everyone. We will add to them most days by writing, coloring, or even gluing visuals right onto the pages! Everyone will need a strong, durable notebook, something that won't fall apart after a month. Notebooks should be 9" x 11", have AT LEAST 100 pages, one or more interior pockets, and have a light-colored, plastic (polyvinyl) cover that can be decorated. I picked several up at Wal-Mart for 99 cents. Click HERE to see an example (it does not have to have 3 subjects). In addition to the notebook, we will need glue sticks, highlighters, colored pencils, and scissors. While I'm not requiring students to supply these items, I would appreciate if, while you're out shopping the sales, you pick up an extra supply or two to add to the classroom's stock. Thank you!!!! |
Welcome!
